| 1 Nov 2003 17:44

Kurt "Thunderheart" Stangl, SWG's very capable new community relations chap, has posted the summary of the things that have taken place concerning the improvement and balancing of SWG in the last week. The original post can be found in the SWG Official Discussion Forum.

Weekly Update #2

October 31, 2003

Here we are, the end of my third week and its time for a weekly update #2.

_____Key Changes______________________________

These changes are either live or will be by tomorrow morning:

* Squad Leader Experience has been improved
* Fix building permissions based on enemy flags applying to non-player structures.
* Don't consider enemy flags toward bounty targets to be aligned

_____Weekly Thread Follow Up______________________________

On the big creature balancing, it is still in progress. I'll let you know when any big change here goes live. As far as the other side of that goes with the Creature Handler changes, thanks for all the great feedback on this one. The vast majority of everyone seems to be happy with these changes. Again, Ill do my best to let you know when that takes effect. With the Death and Decay issues, we've heard the players and we are dramatically reducing the impact here. We are still testing the changes I posted last week.

Again, those Decay Rates are:

* NO decay for incapacitation
* 1% decay on death if you are insured
* 5% decay on death with no insurance

Ill get you an update on Mission Payouts as soon as I can. Closing out the unfinished issues, we're still considering different options to make the Test Center more appealing and nothing on the AT-ST changes has been carved in stone. As things develop, I will update you.

_____Player Correspondents___________________________________

Most of my efforts this week have focused on the Player Correspondents. Q-3PO and I have expanded the Player Correspondent program to have a few new slots. Next week, we will have correspondents for:

* Player Associations; Your Player Correspondent will be Jasentia
* Test Center; Your Player Correspondent will be Vandessa
* Galactic Civil War; Undecided; Ill be considering the GCW correspondent next week

In addition, we have some new Player Correspondents:

* Bio-Engineer; Your Player Correspondent will be Talthazar
* Pistoleer; Your Player Correspondent will be Philospher1976

For the remaining opening slots; Brawler, Rifleman and Tailor, I am discussing the positions with the candidates now and we should have those slots filled by next week. I'll do some forum specific announcements as well.

Its important to have these slots filled, because I will be working with these folks a lot next week. My goal is to hammer out a "State of the Profession" for each profession including desired fixes, balance changes, wish-list items, top five choices and so on for each profession.

If you have issues, please take to the profession forums and get them logged in by the Player Correspondents, so I can get everything included. I want to make sure we get everything into the mix.

Also, fwiw, I try to answer as many PMs as possible, but that's going to change next week - - I have a lot of work to do and I just cant spend the time to answer 100 PMs a day. I really am sorry about that, but I have got to stick to the task at hand.

_____Test Center and Live___________________________________

I know a lot of you want to know what features and changes will be going out to the respective servers. That's next on my list right after working with the correspondents. It is a key issue so Ill be doing some work on that next week, but it will be all internal stuff. After the professions are on course, Ill work on the information we get out to you.

Once that happens, I'll be able to spend even more time on the boards mixing it up with you.

Have a great holiday and Ill see you on the boards!
