Star Wars Galaxies: Large Patch Download for 3rd November

As many people will be aware, there is a 5Mb patch being downloaded to our systems today via the Launchpad, but without any accompanying patch notes or other details.

Fortunately, Kevin "Q-3PO" O'Hara has justed posted what this is on the Development Forum, and it seems that the Player Cities and Mounts may be closer than many think!

In preparation for the upcoming Player City and Mounts update (scheduled for next week currently) we have already started patching assets down to you (I think it was 5 meg today). This is not a huge stealth nerf, it is just files that you won't get any use out of until the big update (like player city art assets). The reason we do this is so that you all aren't downloading a 20+ meg update on the same day.

This is interesting news indeed, and along with the new european servers, it looks like the next couple of weeks in SWG are going to be eventful!

I have been playing this evening on the new European Chimaera server, and although bewildered by how weak I suddenly am, do find the low ping and massive influx of european players rather exciting. Bestine is already heaving with the crowds that are migrating from the US servers for a more localised playing field!
