Dear Warcry,
I've never sent you anything before, but thought I should at the prompting of my clan members. This story actually began more than 4 years ago. I worked at Microsoft at the time and was one of the early pre-Alpha testors on campus. I used to trot around with my 2-handed Lugian sword back when there was no magic or allegiance system. Sadly I don't have screen caps of those days, but I do have a couple of interesting ones to send to you. Over the course of the last 4 years I've played AC on and off, having sold my first account at one point I was finally nearing level 126 with my second account. I know today with Decal and macros and what not that level 126 isn't such a big deal to some anymore, but for me, an old timer who has slugged it out over the course of almost 4 years, I wanted something fitting, both for my level 126 and for AC's 4th birthday. I thought long and hard about where I wanted to turn level 126, I wanted to do something no one had ever done before, at least not to my knowledge.
Therefore, I assembled a group of clan mates, our allegiance is "The Brethren" on Thistledown. We created a fellow and did the Bobo run with a group of us, meanwhile we had a person in the fellow in Red Spire waiting to turn in an Evis pincer. We worked our way to Mowen, killed him and suddenly I had only about 20K left until hitting level 126. I readied my trusty tusker husk and as I turned level 126 handed it to Bobo to be teleported high above Teth. I had turned myself into a human shooting star! As someone once said, it is better to burn out, than fade away. The portal cycle from Bobo lasts a little bit so there weren't as many fireworks above Teth as I would have liked, it probably would have been better to jump first then hit level 126 and start the fireworks. On the way down I managed to finally get the camera view swiveled around, it doesn't seem to act normally during a free fall, I couldn't zoom in or out, but did manage to catch a small portion of my comet trail of shooting stars.
I finally hit the ground with a whopping 9hp left only to be smited by a surprised Lugian who must have thought me a sign from the Gods! ;) My fellow members helped retrieve my body as some were taking screen shots from the ground which I haven't received in email just yet. I hope this brings back memories of the last four years for others and how there is always something new you can do in the game if you only seek it out! Many thanks to my allegiance fellow members: Death Train, Zachard, Zedjin and Drayeman along with some non-allegiance members like Vertical Smile, Tyler the Great, Lyeta, Xanarth and a couple of others whose names I didn't get written down in all the excitement!
Many Thanks,
Tebre
