The Olthoi are a race of conquerors whose only goal is the complete and utter submission of "inferior" races. They are cunning, organized and relentless. Their brutal assaults can overwhelm even the most prepared army, and the speed with which they breed assures they will have superior numbers in any campaign. They gained a foothold in this world because of Gaerlan. His greed for knowledge and power made him ruthless; he even appears Olthoi-like to Asheron as he wrote of Delacim's Death. Many civilizations have fallen because of the faults of one or two individuals. Was Gaerlan such a person? He certainly helped to lay the groundwork. Asheron was grooming Delacim to be his successor, the next guardian of the people. What if Delacim's death was not accidental? Can we completely rule out fratricide?
