Meet the First Chinese God Added to SMITE's Roster Since Closed Beta, Ne Zha

SMITE's new god Ne Zha packs a punch so powerful he'll send you flying in to the sky.

SMITE takes the traditional MOBA formula and flips it on its side to bring you closer to the action. The free-to-play third-person title from Hi-Rez Studios recently added a new Chinese Pantheon God to the mix, the child-God Ne Zha, The Third Lotus Prince. Ne Zha is the first Chinese pantheon added since Guan Yu during Closed Beta. I think Ne Zha definitely looks more like a Princess than a Prince, but who am I to judge?

Ne Zha is is a melee assassin with some pretty interesting abilities. His passive, Child of the Lotus, allows him to resurrect where he dies and heal nearby allies every second while increasing their protections.

SMITE is an online battleground between gods. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session-based arena combat and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. SMITE is inspired by Defense of the Ancients (DotA) but instead of being above the action, the third-person camera brings you right into the combat. And, instead of clicking a map, you use WASD to move, dodge, and fight your way through the detailed graphics of SMITE´s battlegrounds.

His first ability, Universe Ring Toss, is more fun than the carnival game you're probably thinking of. For this ability, Ne Zha throws a Universe Ring that deals damage and can bounce to nearby enemies, damaging and slowing them and increasing Ne Zha's move speed.

Ne Zha also has a Flaming Spear ability, allowing himself to power up with fighting spirit and increase his attack speed and critical strike chance for a short time.

Armillary Sash is Ne Zha's third ability, and probably the one most people are going to complain about when it's used on them. When Ne Zha uses Armillary Sash, he stuns the first enemy God in his path and yanks himself toward them, dealing a powerful AOE attack once he arrives.

Finally, Ne Zha's ultimate, Wind Fire Wheels, is basically a stronger version of Armillary Sash. When Ne Zha's activates his ultimate, he dashes forward towards an enemy and if he connects then he knocks them in to the air for four seconds to unleash a combo. When they land back on Earth, Ne Zha deals AOE damage to everyone in the area and then jumps back to his starting location.

Along with Ne Zha, Hi-Rez added a slew of other additions to the game with its latest patch. These include new skins, spectator changes, god balance changes, and integration.

With the integration, SMITE players can now stream their matches live on Twitch directly from the game without needing any additional software. Hi-Rez really wants folks to use the functionality, so they're offering a special Twitch Ymir skin for anyone who broadcasts 5000 minutes or more.
