Adventuring in Eorzea continues this June.
Final Fantasy 14 may have been a complete disaster for Square Enix, but Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn seems to be getting off on the right foot. At a recent event in Tokyo, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida announced that the game is progressing well despite recent layoffs and will be launching this June for both the PlayStation 3 and PC.
I'll be the first to say that Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn is absolutely beautiful and probably one of the best looking MMOs I've ever seen, thanks to its new game engine. Along with overhauled gameplay and a new story, it's quickly becoming one of the most polished MMOs to be released in a while, which is saying something after the original version needed so many improvements.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that invites you to explore the realm of Eorzea with friends from around the world.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn lets you party up and adventure with a multitude of players from across the globe. Forge friendships, mount chocobos, and board airships as you and your companions create your own unique stories in Eorzea. All the classic elements from the series that you have come to know and love are waiting!
Set out alone or enlist the aid of friends as you undertake epic quests, battle familiar FINAL FANTASY monsters, and acquire unique abilities and equipment. Embark on the adventure of a lifetime to help reforge the fate of Eorzea!
The alpha test for FF14:ARR finished up in December 2012 and the game recently had its second closed beta in February for the PC. Square is holding a third Closed Beta period in June for both PlayStation 3 and PC players. Testers who have tried out the game before are in for a treat as the next phase will introduce new content like Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa.
If you're interested in trying the game out, you can sign up for the Closed Beta on the official Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn site.
