If you haven't tried City of Steam yet, maybe this video will convince you.
The free-to-play browser-based MMO City of Steam began an open beta last weekend and it's probably the best game you aren't playing right now. Taking place on a giant "world machine," (which is basically just a steampunk fan's Valhalla) players arrive in a massive city as refuges and begin to explore the mysteries of their world.
I played the game for a few hours over the weekend and was astounded by the depth of the story and vividness of the world. City of Steam is pushing the limits of what a browser-based title can do; while remaining an accessible and fun MMO.
If you haven't given City of Steam a shot yet, now's the time; you don't even have to download a client to play! The beta includes a full suite of features expected from your average MMO - crafting, customizable armor, skills and talent trees - along with over 80 dungeons and 100 quests. And of course, my personal favorite - jetpacks and steambikes. To get a taste of what the beta is all about, check out the beta gameplay trailer below.
