With HEX's funding complete, we don't have to see Cryptozoic CEO Cory Jones in drag ever again.
Hex, the TCG/MMO from WoW TCG developer Cryptozoic has been fully funded in just 5 days! Trading card game fever seems to have taken hold for at least 25 players who kickstarted the project at $1000 dollars or more. Next, Cryptozoic has outlined a series of 15 stretch goals. Some of these promise some amazing things so it will be interesting to see what the other levels offer. With just 6 stretch goals met, Cryptozoic has promised a crafting system, guild support, an additional city, an additional race, subscription packages, and new types of booster packs. If you're interested in more information about HEX, catch them live on Twitch.tv on Friday, May 17th at 3PM PDT.
HEX promises the social aspects of MMOs like WoW, complete with guilds and raids, and the trading card game community. With all manner of tournaments in the works, players can expect draft tournaments akin to Magic: the Gathering with prizes of more booster packs or even, eventually, cash.
Cryptozoic has outlined two different types of play - PVE and PVP. In PVE, players can equip their cards with things like swords or armor and augment them using gems. While these equipment and augmented cards will not be available in PVP. By offering things like an auction house and guild banks, team-based PVP can't be very far away.
