Origin Crisis explores the alternate realities by DCUO's famed characters.
Turns out that DCUO's monthly subscribers get more of a benefit than just being able to call themselves "legendary players." See, they've had Origin Crisis, DCUO's seventh DLC, for a week now. And our very own Nick Lalone was able to take a tour with SOE's Lead Designer Jens Anderson of the new features and storylines in his preview of Origin Crisis. The rest of us? We finally get our turn with the update now.
Two new raids and four origin operations (two each for both heroes and villains) come with the update, as well as new gear, feats, achievements, and trophies. Oh, and let's not forget the coolest thing - the time- and gravity-manipulating Quantum Controller Power Set. Ain't nobody gonna be messing with the fabric of my reality ... except myself!
The theme of this update revolves around the alternate storylines of characters. "What if Batman's parents had never died, or if Superman teamed up with Lex Luthor? We wanted to explore the idea of time travel and really dig into these alternate realities," said Jens Andersen, DCUO's creative director. "We have selected some truly compelling narratives to explore in Origin Crisis, enabling players to alter the core motivations of their favorite heroes and villains and to see how the world changes as a result."
Legendary players will have, of course, already received Origin Crisis as a free download. Free and Premium players can download it for $9.99 via the DCUO online store or the PlayStation Network.
