Up for a visit to the planet of crime in STO's Legacy of Romulus expansion?

It's hard not to be impressed by those scientists, always discovering new planets! And the computer scientists at Cryptic? No different. They've just revealed one of the planets that'll be included in Star Trek Online's next expansion pack, Legacy of Romulus. Nimbus, featured in the fifth Star Trek film and once intended by its colonists to be a "Planet of Galactic Peace," is now a lawless, crime-ridden planet.

As detailed on the STO blog, those who aren't involved in crime are either fugitives, or simply too poor to leave the planet's ironically named Paradise City. Federation, Klingon, and Romulan players will be sent to the planet to unearth its secrets.

Players will have the opportunity to visit iconic locations from the popular Star Trek fiction, reach out to unexplored star systems and make contact with new alien species. With Episode Missions, every moment spent playing Star Trek Online will feel like a new Star Trek episode in which you are the star.

Immerse yourself in the future of the Trek universe as it moves into the 25th century: a time of shifting alliances and new discoveries.

An episode series, Wasteland, will take players all over Nimbus, from Paradise City to the ship acting as a stronghold of crime. There will also be daily quests to complete, which reward amounts of Dilithium Ore depending on how well the player does in the mission. And perhaps best of all is that Paradise City hosts a daily dance competition - successfully completing the dance mission four times earns players the fan dance emote.

Though recommended for players level 21 to 25, you'll be able to access the zone from 19 onwards. If your toon's level is too high, it will automatically be adjusted to 26 upon your arrival in Nimbus.

Nimbus will be open for visits upon Legacy of Romulus' launch next week. I, for one, will be queuing up to get my dance on as soon as the gates to the seedy city open.
