Japan's the next stop on Crytek's Warface tour of Asia.
Competitive players better watch out - some of the world's best gamers hail from Japan, and they'll be the next to join us in Warface. Powerhouse developer Crytek have today signed a deal with Asia-based publisher Nexon, guaranteeing that Warface is released in Japan.
The free-to-play shooter has previously had "tremendous results" in South Korea under Nexon's care, so this move into Japanese territory was a natural choice. Warface has just concluded its closed beta in both South Korea and Europe; there are 10 million players in Russia alone.
"Expanding Warface to Japan is a very important step for us," said Cevat Yerli, CEO & President of Crytek. "Nexon is a very trusted partner; they have shown us tremendous results in South Korea, where Warface just entered Open Beta after receiving highly positive feedback from gamers during Closed Beta, and we are sure that they will play a key role in ensuring Warface's success in Japan as well."
