It seems Halloween's arrived early this year.
Tonics are the health potions of Battlefield Heroes, and they're everywhere. They're totally harmless, right? Well, not according to this cheerful video, which is suggesting their over-consumption will lead to the flooding of various horrific creatures into the MMOFPS. Oh dear.
The newest batch of supplies in the free-to-play shooter makes up the Monsters and Mutants update, which sees a bunch of humorous, horror-themed goodies. For instance, there's a new flee-inducing grenade weapon available to both factions; the Nationals can cause panic by hurling a bottle of "Schroedinger's Nightmare," while the Royals can toss around angry beehives. That's the sort of thing I can't wait to see in-game.
A drop of Mutant Supplies has already hit the Battlefield Heroes in-game store for the equivalent of under $2, along with some appropriately themed new armor sets. More will be on the way "soon."
In the meantime, you might be wise to heed this video's advice - apparently, overdosing on Tonics just may see you transform into a hideous zombie-like beast, and all in time for the full slew of horrific items to hit the store, too.
