Venture through the Forgotten Realms in the new D&D Online expansion.
Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited (DDO for short) is an officially licensed, free-to-play MMO set in the most famous fantasy role-playing universe of all time. In the vast and dangerous online world of Eberron, gamers slay monsters, discover hidden treasure and evade traps left behind by an ancient race. An intense, "realistic" combat system immerses players in visceral battles against a vast array of fantasy foes and other players as a sword-swinger, a spellcaster or something in between. Playable races range from humans, elves and dwarves to the more exotic drow, half-orc and warforged, and while everything is free-to-play, convenience and customization options are available for purchase along with optional subscription plans for fans who want unlimited access to all content.
Dungeons & Dragons Online's second expansion, Shadowfell Conspiracy, has been announced by Turbine. Shadowfell Conspiricy will take place in the Forgotten Realms setting and will feature a higher level cap, new heroes, and a host of fresh dungeons. The expansion will launch on August 19 and you can begin pre-ordering the pack starting now.
"We're excited to share our launch date with the world and introduce the new Iconic Classes system that will be available immediately to anyone that pre-purchases Shadowfell Conspiracy," said Erik Boyer, Senior Producer of DDO. "We're also making new Forgotten Realms content that will enable players to create a level 15 character in the Forgotten Realms and play all the way to level cap."
The expansion is divided in to a free portion and a paid portion that's only available to those who pre-order. Turbine has created two new missions for everyone, and an extra for those who pre-purchase.
If you're considering pre-ordering, the expansion will release in two packages that both contain beta access, in-game items, and other perks. The Collector's Edition is available for $49.99 or you can pick up a Standard Edition at $29.99. There are almost a dozen pre-order incentives for each version, so check out the official D&D Online Site to see them all. But before you go, watch this teaser trailer.
