The publishing empire behind World of Tanks, and other vehicles, opens its 15th office during its 15th year of operation.
It seems like everywhere you look these days, there's something prefixed with the word "war." That's probably thanks to Wargaming, the developer and publisher who commandeers such efforts as World of Warplanes and World of Warships. Now it's set to boost the name of its empire further, with a new office opening in Tokyo, Japan.
As World of Tanks rolls out in the Land of the Rising Sun, the Tokyo office will focus primarily on marketing, public relations, and customer support for the title.
"Besides being one of the major video games markets in the world, it's also a place where free-to-play gaming is growing by leaps and bounds," says Victor Kislyi, Wargaming CEO. ""We'll be staffing our new Tokyo office with the best and brightest from the country, all with the goal of providing our players there with an incomparable customer experience."
Wargaming now has 15 offices for each of the 15 years it's been running - crazy. Perhaps it's a sign that the free-to-play MMO model, which Wargaming has perfected, is well and truly here to stay.
