PoE Update 0.11.0 brings new leagues, items, and achievements.
Action RPG Path of Exile's latest update drops June 5. The update, announced this weekend (or maybe today? Who knows - Grinding Gear Games is in New Zealand), includes two new temporary leagues, new items and a grip of achievements.
For diehard fans, GGG has introduced two new leagues beyond hardcore and standard. Leagues are PoE's unique difficulty setting - players choose which league to play in depending on their play style.
Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. Developed by a small team of hardcore gamers, Path of Exile doesn't pull any punches. With an innovative Skill Gem system, fully randomized maps, and a strong item-based economy, PoE is a love-song to the action RPG genre.
These new leagues - enticingly referred to as Anarchy and Onslaught - offer grueling challenges for any players who refer to hardcore mode as "easy." In Anarchy, fans will face NPCs who are utilizing skills and items usually reserved for player characters. And Onslaught is just what it sounds like - a league that turns the difficulty up to 11. Both of these leagues will run from June 8 to October 8.
The update also adds eight new achievements, new unique items, and some gameplay improvements, including a nerf to monster damage. The update releases June 5, but the new leagues don't begin until June 8, so there will be some time for fans to adjust to the changes before diving into anarchy and onslaught.
