World of Warcraft is still coming to a theater near you.

The World of Warcraft movie has been in development for almost six years. With various directors like Sam Raimi signing on and off, along with script disagreements, things never really got off the ground with the film. However, now that Duncan Jones (Moon) has signed on to direct, the WoW movie is scheduled to begin shooting in 2014.

"First quarter 2014 we're going to shoot that movie," producer Charles Roven said. "We're moving forward; obviously Legendary is making that film and I'm having a great time with Duncan."

The movie's plot, written by Charles Leavitt (Blood Diamond), is being kept under wraps. Some folks are already speculating that the film has a budget of over $100 million and that it will be released in 2015.

Considering filming hasn't started yet, and that everything with Blizzard takes forever, this seems like an extremely optimistic release window. We'll just have to wait for more details about when the film will be released. Hopefully we'll hear something either at this year's Comic-Con or BlizzCon.
