Firefall is free to check out for a few days.
Firefall, the MMOFPS from Red 5 Studios, has been in development for a very long time. However, the release of the game is getting closer every day, and to celebrate the event, Red 5 is inviting thousands of people to join in on Firefall's final public beta weekend which kicks off this Friday, June 7.
"Throughout the development of Firefall, we've been paying very close attention to what players have had to say about the game," said Red 5 Studios. "In fact, much of what is in the game today has come at the suggestion of what you, the players, have asked. Our development process has been centered around feedback from you, and we invite all who have experienced Firefall one last chance to shape the game before Open Beta!"
Firefall is a sci-fi MMO shooter set in a future Earth. A starship disaster unleashes a titanic energy storm called the Melding. It envelopes the earth, wipes out most of the planet, and spawns hostile creatures who self-proclaim themselves the Chosen.
Over the weekend, anyone can play through Firefall's content for free. The Beta will feature new locations and dynamic missions, overhauled progression and crafting systems, and new Battleframe abilities. Additionally, just for logging on over the weekend, you'll unlock a nifty pair of night vision goggles.
There will also be a contest for high-end Razer and AMD gear going on through the weekend. To enter, players have to submit a trailer showing the Red 5 team why people should want to play Firefall.
Two winners will receive a package including a Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition keyboard, a Kraken Pro headset, a HIS 7970 iPower IceQ X2 3GB video card powered by AMD Radeon, and a limited edition Brontodon plushie.
If you won't have a chance to participate in this beta weekend, don't worry. Firefall is poised to enter Open Beta on July 9.
