A forthcoming patch will address NW's PVP, queue system, auction house, user interface, and more.
It's early days yet for Neverwinter. The latest MMO from Cryptic Studios has seen an otherwise successful move into open beta marred by a few kinks and rollbacks. Cryptic are trying to put things right, though, and their next step in that process is a huge update that's going to make changes to a lot of NW's biggest features.
Writing on the Neverwinter forums, community manager Sominator has outlined what we can expect from the patch.
It's been over century since the Spellplague forever changed The Forgotten Realms. Now, explore the city that's been at the center of a thousand adventures: Neverwinter. Adapted from the real Dungeons and Dragon's ruleset, Neverwinter will feature action-oriented combat and storytelling unlike any other MMO. Take the world in your hands with the Foundry toolset and make your own tales. Make your mark in this legendary world.
Additionally, every class will see big chances in their mechanics - a lot of rebalancing is going to take place on top of the usual bug-fixing. "Expect a high volume of changes to damage, mitigation, cooldowns, stacking, power synergies, durations, and knockbacks, interrupts, threat, bonuses, and pretty much everything else!" Sominator continues.
A release date for this patch hasn't been announced, but Sominator suggests keeping an eye on the patch notes forum. What sort of changes are you hoping to see in NW? Personally, I'm holding out for that hinted-at ranger class.
