The Perfect World have opened a new studio.

Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios have announced Cryptic North, a new division of Cryptic Studios based in Seattle, Washington. Cryptic North will be led by Director Russell Williams, who has been working in the gaming industry for 15 years on titles such as Pirates of the Burning Sea and Rails Across America.

Crypic North will work closely with Cryptic Studios to continue with the development of Champions Online, Star Trek Online, and Neverwinter.

"We are excited to welcome Russell Williams and the team at Cryptic North to the Perfect World family," said Alan Chen, CEO, Perfect World Entertainment. "Williams' experience as a leader and creator of award-winning titles will play a critical role at Cryptic North and help grow Champions Online."

Cryptic are doing big things. They recently announced the release date of Neverwinter, along with its first free expansion pack, Neverwinter: Fury of the Feywild.
