Cryptic is hosting a massive in-game event in which Protector's Enclave comes under attack, and players can earn unique rewards.
For those who haven't been following Neverwinter very closely, the game's open beta is coming to a close on June 20th, less than a week away. In true D&D style, the Neverwinter developers at Cryptic decided the best way to celebrate the end of their open beta would be to have the game's antagonist, Valindra attack the sanctuary city of the game, Protector's Enclave. In a massive three phase event, players will have the opportunity to defend their home from waves of monsters, collect double enchantments and runestones and even have the chance at finding unique enchantments or companions.
During the first phase of the event, beginning today and going until the 17th, players can collect double the normal amount of enchantments and runestones from quests, chests and monsters. Following the enchantment looting frenzy will be a full scale assault on Protector's Enclave by the armies of the lich, Valindra. During this phase of the event, which will span from the 17th until the 20th, players will slay invading monsters in Protector's Enclave and collect bags of bones, which can be traded in for powerful rewards. During the finale of the event, which will take place on the 19th and 20th, players will fight Unhallowed Wights and other powerful summons from Valindra's army.
During the second and third phases of the event, players will have a chance at looting unique enchantments that grant two stat enhancements instead of one or even picking up a not-yet-revealed unique companion.
The event begins today at 12pm PDT, and with the recent major updates to the game, now is a better time than ever to get started in Neverwinter. For the full details on the End of Open Beta Event, check out the schedule posted by Cryptic on their website.
