By Crom, I need achievements for all these snakes I'm about to kill in AoC.
The Age of Conan: Unchained Game Director Letter for June 2013 outlines a ton of changes coming to the free-to-play MMO this summer. First and foremost, the letter describes the route FunCom needs to take to ensure streamlined server mergers. It also goes in to the variety of test server content scheduled for completion this summer.
In the letter, AoC Director Joel Bylos outlines several dungeons that will appear on the test server soon and urges players to log onto the test server to experience the Dragon's Spine Dungeons as well as the server optimization they've been testing. Bylos and his development team are currently toying with the idea of a Test Server event in order to get more data about the direction the test content should take.
Finally, they ask for more feedback about an achievement system. Specifically, they are curious about what sort of achievements that players are interested in. All of this content is set to be finished during the summer, with additional PVP, mini-game, and tradeskill balancing coming in during or soon after the summer patches.
Age of Conan: Unchained is an MMO that takes place in Robert E. Howard's low magic, high adventure fantasy setting made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger during the 1980s. The game was released in 2008 and has undergone several radical changes, with the most recent being the appointing of Joel Bylos as the new Game Director. An appeal to the "casual gamer" has been met with a bit of apprehension by current players, and this direction is made a bit more obvious as this month's director's letter seeks to find a way to lessen the "power gap" between new and established end game players.
