Fly to new heights in the upcoming Dragon's Prophet update.
This action fantasy title has you, as a human hero, fighting alongside dragons. The most recent battle against evil ended in victory, but evil's a sneaky so-and-so, and the world's in peril again. Have you got what it takes to become the next Dragon Prophet?
This is a free-to-play, with microtransactions. Though there isn't a subscription system per se, during closed beta the developer is selling what's called a Dragon Pack. There are three different kinds of Packs, each with its own dragon, title and gear; it's basically a VIP system in all but name. Cost of these packs ranges from $19,99 to $89.99, depending on how fancy you care to get. Purchase of a Pack gets you into the beta.
The first major update for Dragon's Prophet, the free-to-play game from Sony Online Entertainment where you can ride and train a variety of different dragons, will get its first major Open Beta update on July 15. The update will bring a lot of new features including an increased level cap, the Wintertide zone, new dungeons, new gear, and some fresh housing features.
When the update launches, players will be able to progress all the way to level 70 and explore the frigid Wintertide zone. Wintertide is a snow-filled, harsh weather zone with tundras, forests, and tall mountains. The zone is also home to three of Dragon's Prophet's new dungeons.
The update will also allow players to make their own homes on the dream islands. In the past, Sony Online Entertainment have said that players will be able to show off their achievements in their house. To do this, they will be able to collect parts of enemy bodies and display it in their home as a trophy.
Additionally, the update will add new public quests, zone achievements, guild bank storage, new commands to interact with your dragons in different ways, and new pirate-themed gear.
To get folks ready for the update, SOE have kicked off the Ancient Shadow Festival. During this festival, which is available now, players can learn about the rich past of the Auratians and take part in a series of quests to earn a unique title.
Dragon's Prophet's is currently in Open Beta, so if you want to capture, train, ride, and fight a bunch of different dragons of your own, check it out.
