The LoL World Championship will take place at the Los Angeles Staples Center where two teams will battle for a million bucks.

Beginning September 16, professional League of Legends teams will flood Southern California for the LoL Season 3 World Championship. The championship will take nearly a month, culminating with the two best teams battling for a million dollars in cash on October 4.

Within the next few weeks, pro teams from each region (North America, Korea, China, Southeast Asia, and Europe) will vy for a top-14 spot that will allow them to compete in the World Playoffs. The first of these regional qualifiers will be for Southeast Asia on August 17. Another qualifier spot will be granted to the International Wildcard winner at Gamescom in late August.

From there, players will travel to Los Angeles for a month's worth of battling. Competitors will return to the Galen Center, the location of last year's final, for the semi-finals before the top two teams head to the iconic Staples Center.

The Staples Center, home to the Los Angeles Lakers, is a fitting home for the championship considering how many rings have been won in that stadium. Let's just hope whoever wins doesn't start a dynasty, because no one likes dynasties.
