Rock the vote in Guild Wars 2.
Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet is living up to their aggressive two-week release schedule for content updates. The next portion of their living world content has been revealed as Cutthroat Politics. Coming July 23, Cutthroat Politics is an update that will allow players to vote on who will be the new Captain's Council Member. The update will also introduce new activities and features in addition to story content.
After the explosive murder during a previous Guild Wars 2 content update, Dragon Bash, there's now an open seat on the Captain's Council of Lion's Arch. In Cutthroat Politics, players will have to support a new Council candidate, War hero Ellen Kiel or Black Lion Trader Evon Gnashblade, to help one of them win the seat that will impact future events.
The update will allow players to win support tokens which they can then use to help back their favorite candidate. Whichever NPC wins the election will reduce the price of certain items, host a new permanent rotation of mini-games, and put effort in to researching one of two historical events.
Cutthroat Politics, along with the political campaign, will bring three new activities and a few rewards to Guild Wars 2. These include the Southsun Survival and Aspect Arena activities, as well as the new Candidate Trials PVE challenge, which we'll get more details about soon.
The rewards for these activities include a Desert Rose, Zephyr Rucksack, and miniature versions of Ellen Kiel and Evon Gnashblade.
ArenaNet has promised more details about the Guild Wars 2: Cutthroat Politics update soon, so as we learn more we'll be sure to share.
