Age of Wushu comes to the big screen.
Snail Games, developer of the free-to-play kung-fu MMO Age of Wushu, has announced some high flying plans for the IP. Aside from an upcoming free expansion, Legends of Mount Hua, the firm has also revealed they plan to make a feature film, mobile port, and console port with Age of Wushu.
"The Age of Wushu game looks and plays like a major martial arts motion picture, so bringing the property to movie screens is a logical evolution," said Snail Games Founder and Chairman, Shi Hai. "Our goal has always been for the property to reach the widest audience so evolving to a feature film and expanding the experience to consoles and mobile devices continues our plan."
No further details have been released about the Age of Wushu movie or the mobile or console ports at this time, including what consoles Snail is developing for. But the fact that the Chinese developer is working on them at all is pretty exciting to begin with.
As for what we do know, the Age of Wushu: Legends of Mount Hua expansion will feature PvP content, a dungeon, a leveling system where veteran players can help out new players, and a new Jianghu Status System feature where players can measure their relations with NPCs. The expansion is coming for free on August 8.
