Raid, mount up!
Blizzard is making good on their promise of, "more content, faster." Coming up in patch 5.4, Blizzard is adding a new in-game pet store with all manner of pets and mounts, with additional transmogrification helms and WoW TCG items. As well as these cosmetic additions, patch 5.4 will also bring Proving Grounds. All of this is scheduled to be released "soon" according to Blizzard.
Aside from the new helms, which provide no stat benefits but offer neat visual effects for transmogrification purposes, the new shop will also offer a Seesaw and the Iron Hitching Post. The Seesaw is an item that users can play on, while the Iron Hitching Post allows up to 24 people to jump on their own version of the same mount model, the Iron Warhorse.
Enter the world of Azeroth and battle against the Alliance of humans, dwarves and night elves or the brutish orcs, trolls and undead of the Horde. World of Warcraft has a very large community of players with hundreds of servers and a myriad of endgame pursuits from raiding dungeons, questing, achievement hunting, PVP arenas, and now pet battles.
Proving Grounds are new battlefields meant for solo players to test and improve their combat skills. These battlefields, entered through Class Trainers or an NPC in Kun-Lai Summit at the Temple of the White Tiger, will allow players to try different roles without the need to practice within a raid or a dungeon. Players can undertake trials for Damage, Tank, or Healer roles. Each trial is available in four separate difficulties: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Endless with each level increasing the variety of enemy as well as the enemy's HP/Resistance. The endless modes are similar to score attack games and are meant to be a way to compete with friends without them being there.
Patch 5.4 will be the climax of the Mists of Pandaria expansion pack. Here, players will chase the new Horde Warchief, Garrosh Hellscream, to the ends of the earth as he struggles with the Sha of Pride. One exciting part of this raid is the addition of the joke NPC, Gamon, who has been part of the game for ages but was never anything more than an NPC thieves had to pickpocket on occasion. It is currently unknown if Gamon will receive all the funds he lost during his battle with Garrosh Hellscream or if he's simply out-of-luck. Patch 5.4 will also bring cross-server PvP, herb-gathering mounts, flexible raiding, new legendary items and world bosses, and Corgi mini-pets.
