Soon you may get to make your own competitive arena in RIFT.
RIFT, the free-to-play fantasy MMO from Trion Worlds, may be getting a neat new feature in an upcoming patch. According to an MMORPG Podcast with RIFT's Creative Director, Bill Fisher, player-made PvP battles, or warfronts, might be on the horizon.
"There's one really big thing in the works and a lot of little things," he explained. "One of the really big things that's in the works is...allowing people to kind of make their own warfronts, or whatnot, within their own dimensions."
Fisher explains that Trion has heard the player requests for more customizable PvP and they want to make that happen. "A lot of people have said they want to have their own 5v5 tournaments, they want to have their own 10v10s, whatever they want to do, we're looking at making that possible," he said.
If player-made warfronts were to come out, Fisher explains that the system might allow players to set respawn points and set rules using simple building blocks already found within the Dimension Editor that people use to create their Housing environments.
While Fisher explains that the RIFT team has a lot of crazy ideas and get tons of suggestions from players, this one seems like it will actually make it to the game. He didn't get any release frame or more details, but the idea sounds like a winner.
