Star Wars Galaxies: Server Boundaries Making You Lose Items?

| 4 Dec 2003 19:20

If you take a weapon or any item from a house, be it yours or a friends and it is equipped such as a weapon, once you fire it might disappear. Your character, if you keep attacking with it, will still look like he is holding it but once you go through a boundary it will disappear entirely. Gone from inventory even if you change view.

There are 2 ways to bring back this equipped item. First one is the easiest, it is possible that the item had a sort of 'rollback', where once it disappeared it just went right back into the container/place in the house you got it from. The more time consuming way is to make sure you unequip anything that uses the same slot(ie a rifle disappears make sure no weapon is equipped, also if you placed it into your toolbar and replaced it with a new weapon remove the new weapon). Logout, and when you come back in, the said item should be back in your hands. If not logout for a bit longer, max time should be 10 minutes. This worked great for me and my laser rifle. If you have any problem's, I am more then willing to help you, just email me.

Now the resources that I lost were pretty easy to get back. The way I lost them was, I would make a schematic in my house, run out to the factory once the radial started to rotate item's the resources the said schematic used would go poof. Just run back into the house and open a pack, be it your's or one in your house. That will make the resources come back in the inventory. Now take out the resources, go back to factory place schematic, go back to the house and bring the resources to the inventory hopper, this will work about 3/4 times. If it doesn't then the factory really doesn't want to make the said schematic. You can still get it to work, just split up your resources to small amounts, try 100 if it works try more till you reach a point that it won't work at all.

If you go invisible, try to mount a creature or dismount, enter a house and exit. Those have been working for me a lot lately. Also try to deploy camp, that I hear is one of the best solutions. If you start to rollback 1000m on your mount, meaning that you are on the mount moving north you are 500m from your waypoint, then all of a sudden you are 2000m then back to 400m then 1800m if this starts to occur get off mount and just run for a while.

Hope my experiences with some of the bug's we are still experiencing, and the homemade remedies to fixing them are helping you. Again if you have a problem and do-not know how to fix it as long as it's in-game and SWG related, I am more then willing to help you with. Just hit grifta@warcry.com. Have fun!
