These inventive designs can accurately be described as "sugar and spice."
I think we all dream of getting our own crazy weapon and outfit designs into the MMOs that we play so often, but few of us are talented enough for that to really happen. This week, though, two players had their dreams come true, with their own weapon designs now live on North American servers.
The lucky two were chosen from a pool of "hundreds" of entries for a competition that challenged players to create new weaponry for the new Gunslinger and Songweaver classes.
Liiga Smilshkalne, also known as Rakesh from the Israphel server, designed an acidic-looking pistol with attitude. Originally called the Mookie Gun, it's now been relabelled Kippie's Nightmare.
Meanwhile, for the Songweaver, Sergio Kishino (otherwise known as Seey from the Tiamat server) came up with the fanciful Flutterlight Sonata, which appears to be a delicate harpsichord with a deadly arrow.
What a cool way to be immortalized in one of your favorite video games. If I try hard enough, maybe some of my bad poetry will one day make it into World of Warcraft... Anyway, check out Aion's winning weapon designs in the gallery below, as well as the wicked concept art that inspired them.
