New Music in WoW is like a new coat of paint on an old beloved car.
World of Warcraft's 5.4 patch is shaping up to be something of a mini-expansion. Between Garrosh Hellscream being deposed as warchief to a possible expansion starring Wrathion, the nephew of Onyxia, the Mists of Pandaria expansion is finishing with an even bigger bang than it began with. In addition, virtual realms (the virtual merging of server blades), an in-game store and flexible raiding, players will be able to find more and more people to raid with, more often. The latest news from the PTR, where Blizzard tests new content before sending it to the live server, players have become witness to new music for the new Vale of Eternal Blossoms as well as what seems to be some raid and background music in addition to a new host of ability changes, including one to the Pandaren racial ability.
The ability change for pandaren changes the ability from, "Your rested experience points bonus lasts twice as long" to "You earn twice as much rested experience." This change meshes with the addition of the Enduring Elixir of Wisdom, an item that seems to double experience points gained for an undetermined amount of time.
See below for a sampling of new music. I was pretty happy to hear the melding of WoW's traditional music for the Horde and Alliance being melded with the Pandaren, Chinese-inspired music. Blizzard continues to produce music for this expansion that is all at once relaxing and mysterious.
