Dropzone Map Bigger

Blacklight: Retribution has received an update adding a new map, equipment and raising the level cap from 40 to 50.

Are you a fan of first person shooters with a taste for cramped environments that inevitably lead to claustrophobic firefights and high body counts? Then the folks at Zombie Studios have a multiplayer map for you! The developer recently released a new update for its game Blacklight: Retribution, adding in the new map Dropzone, new equipment, and also raising the game's level cap.

Wage war with advanced weapons and technology in Blacklight: Retribution, a free-to-play, futuristic first-person shooter. Deploy devastating armored exoskeletons and utilize lethal hand-held weapons in vicious competitive modes.

The Hardsuit is the ultimate weapon. Powerful but slow, this armored suit packs a one-shot, one-kill railgun and a high velocity minigun to clear rooms ... fast. Only by using teamwork, heavy weapons from in-game Weapon Depots and the Hyper Reality Visor (HRV), can players overcome the futuristic killing machine.

The map is "built from the ground up to be a competitive, claustrophobic affair." Taking place in a plaza environment with a "ring-shaped courtyard centered around a three-room memorial," it should give players eager for more hectic matches and close encounters a new option to satisfy that desire. Perhaps more exciting overall however are the aforementioned boost to the level cap and the new equipment being introduced in the Dropzone update.

Included amongst the contents of the update will be four bits of fresh gear: the Barricade Mk2 shield, Sonic Tomahawk, Infrared Protection Gear and the Cloak Mk2. Seven day versions of the Barricade, Tomahawk and Cloak can be purchased with GP. The increased level cap will now raise the game's experience ceiling from level 40 to level 50. Players who reach level 45 will be granted new Winter Ops camo options, while hitting the new level 50 cap will earn access to the Bearded Ops camo (for fun only!). Altogether, it's an update that brings a fair amount of new content that players will likely enjoy.
