War for Nosgoth can't do anything for you but remain mysterious ...for now.
In a recent series of posts on the official Legacy of Kain forums, community manager George Kellion posted about what Legacy of Kain-War for Nosgoth is not. For starters, he stated that the game won't play like League of Legends or Defense of the Ancients but that it will have a unique experience point system, be online only, closed world, and is a, "competitive online multiplayer experience (...with a bit of a twist)." This game will initially be a third-person, mostly combat focused experience that will be available on PC. Players will only be able to play with a keyboard and mouse. With the MOBA market experiencing a slow flood, this Unreal Championship 2 inspired game may be an attempt by Square Enix and Eidos to create something new though there is no mention of e-sports anywhere ... yet.
Legacy of Kain is a 5 game series initially developed during for the Playstation 1. It is split into 2 different chapters, Soul Reaver starring the vampire Raziel and Blood Omen starring the vampire, Kain. Blood Omen is about an anti-hero who seeks revenge against the people who murdered him. As a twist, Kain discovers that the god of death orchestrated Kain's murder as his continued existence allows the god of death to assume the mantle of all the other gods of the world the game takes place in.
Soul Reaver stars Raziel, Kain's first-born son. This 2-game series moved from overhead view to 3rd-person and revolves around the concepts of fate and free-will as players learn about the character Raziel and all that he embodies. According to George Kellion, War for Nosgoth will be inspired by this series of games though it will not star any of the main characters.
