Party with the developers, watch PvP, listen to panels ... you know, the usual.
Guild Wars 2 is approaching its one year anniversary and the developers at ArenaNet want to celebrate with you -- yes, you, and your friends, and any other fans that may be in the Seattle area this Saturday for PAX Prime. That's August 31 for those bad with dates.
There will be plenty of activities surrounding the game all day, starting with a welcome address at 1 p.m. from ArenaNet president Mike O'Brien so he can tell you what great fans you are and how Guild Wars 2 wouldn't be what it is without you (yes, you).
The world of Guild Wars 2 is filled with thousands of dynamic events that constantly change based on the actions of players like you. Fast-paced, action-oriented combat lets you attack on the move, dodge and roll away from enemy blows, team up with other players, and take advantage of environmental weapons to dominate the battlefield! Competitive play in Guild Wars 2 is easy to learn, but offers challenges for new players and hardcore PvPers alike. Guild Wars 2 is your story - your choices determine how your personal story evolves, and with thousands of possible variations, no two players will have the exact same experience.
The party really gets moving after that with a sneak peek at some of the new content coming to the game. Players can get some hands-on time and interact with the developers to ask questions while they play.
After that, you will probably be bursting with questions, so you can then shuffle off to a panel discussion where the ArenaNet devs sill talk about the living world and the future of the game. They will also take your questions, so make a good list.
The PvP Invitational tournament finals between the US team champion SYNC and the European team champs Car Crash will begin at 5 p.m., with $10,000 in prizes. The event will be livestreamed, with shoutcasts in five languages.
The evening wraps up with a party full of music, food, anddeveloper interaction. There will also be more gameplay time and free loot. All for you (yes, you!)
The event will be at the Renaissance Hotel Madison Ballroom, so be sure to check it out if you just can't get enough Guild Wars 2.
