Time to start climbing the League of Legends ladder.
League of Legends' season 3 has been heating up over the last few weeks. With the LCS World Championship only a few short weeks away, Riot Games has had their hands full with wrapping up the latest and greatest competitive scene for the superstar MOBA. With the growing anticipation for the season's end, players have been getting restless to know what Riot has in store for the season's finale, and Riot kindly complied, releasing the season 3 rewards, broken down into three tiers.
Bronze League players will earn a unique Season 3 Summoner Icon that displays their status and participation in the competitive aspect of League of Legends. Players who have reached made it into the Silver League will earn a Summoner Icon, a profile and loading screen trim, and will permanently unlock the Victorious Ward skin for all use in game. Players who rank Gold or Higher in Season 3 will receive a Summoner Icon, a profile and loading screen trim, the Victorious Ward skin, and a personalized invitation badge that displays their season 3 ranking. Gold and higher ranked players will also receive a Victorious Skin for a yet-to-be-named champion. Though there is no official word on which champion the skin will be for, the accompanying picture for the post makes it pretty obvious that it will be for Elise, a powerful and well-respected champion throughout season 3.
Each reward is broken down by ranking, meaning that the Bronze Summoner Icon will be different from the Platinum Summoner Icon, and the Gold invitation badge will be different from the Challenger invitation badge. Only the Victorious Ward skin and the Victorious Elise skins will be standard to all players who unlock them.
League of Legends files the sharp corners off of the notorious MOBA genre into something that's both approachable, yet challenging. Persistant character development lets you develop your strategies over time and build up your summoner profile, while runes can grant you the edge. The community is both highly competitive, yet well-policed. Think you have what it takes to compete in the League of Legends?
These rewards will be given to players who achieve standing in any Ranked Que, including solo, 3v3, or 5v5. Players who qualify based on their 3v3 or 5v5 teams must participate in at least 30% of the team's total games to receive rewards based on that team. Season 3 of League of Legends ends October 31st, so players who want to rank up and earn some sweet rewards had better get their buds together and get busy on the Fields of Justice.
