A new slow-motion trailer focuses in on the human side of War Thunder.
There's just something about slow motion that is equal parts cool and dramatic. At least, that's the assumption Gaijin Entertainment is banking on in its new "Heroes" trailer for War Thunder, its WW2-era MMO flight simulator. Despite the game being plane-centric, the trailer runs (at a snail's pace as it were) through the course of an engagement between Allied and Axis forces, shifting perspectives from pilots, to ground troops, to the crew of German naval vessel.
All in all, the trailer is quite gorgeous, focusing a great deal on the facial expressions of the various soldiers as they react to the chaos around them. It all speeds up toward the end, switching back to the usual speed and lightning action that gamers might be accustomed to in trailers dealing with tanks, planes and ships shooting each other to fiery bits.
While this trailer is lovely, we honestly might have preferred another trailer focusing in on the title's gameplay. A trailer tailored toward showing off the recently announced PS4 version, for instance, would be really interesting. We'd love to see how close it will be to the PC product what changes are being made to accommodate the console. Then again, we're not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. If the folks at Gaijin Entertainment wants to spend their time making enthralling cinematic trailers for us to enjoy, more power to them.
