Get your dungeon groupings here ... in-game. Finally!
It's been a long-time coming, according to Guild Wars 2 fans. There has even been a popular website spawned to fill the void in the interim. But it will no longer be needed when the next update arrives on September 17 as GW2 is getting a Looking for Group tool.
Players will now be able to find groups for all the world's dungeons, Fractals of the Mists, PvP and World v. World. Most will work cross-server, except for WvW and Living World content.
Players can host and merge parties, but you can't fish for good groups. Deserters will have to wait longer and longer before being able to join a new group. There is also a reporting function that allows players to turn-in those that don't play well with others, as well as boot undesirables from the group.
Lead content designer Mike Zadorojny told MMORPG.com that the LFG tool was designed for the community. "We don't want players not talking to each other and just running dungeons silently on end for some bonus tokens."
Of course, you'll have plenty of time to play with the new tool and gather groups beginning on September 17. Based on fan feedback, it appears the tool will be a welcome addition to the game.
