WildStar is getting its lore on, comic book style.
WildStar has been attracting audiences not only for its strong gameplay core, but also, somewhat surprisingly, for its premise and story. The over-the-top, shameless attitude that the game styles itself towards has popularized it greatly, and the WildStar Dev Speak videos have found the perfect balance between informative and highly entertaining. Building on the characters they first introduced back in July, the developers at Carbine have recently added the new digital comic, Mystery and Mayhem: Tales From Beyond the Fringe, featuring Mondo Zax and Victor Lazarin.
Though each update is only a few panels long, Tales From Beyond the Fringe will be updated once per week. With only one release currently available, it's difficult to tell how much the digital comic will reveal about the plot and story of WildStar. In the first issue, Mondo Zax reminds the reader why it would be unwise to look down on the Chua. The preview image of the second issue appear to feature Victor Lazarin, so perhaps Tales From Beyond the Fringe will help to fill in some of the backstory of the Exiles and Dominion, or simply increasing the relevance of these two significant characters within the WildStar world story.
The first issue of the comic is available to read on the WildStar website, and the next update will be available on September 6th. Players who can't wait to see WildStar content for themselves should also check out the preview of the first dungeons in WildStar.
