Dark Age Of Camelot: Camelot Europe Grab Bag

This week, we are going to cover many problems encountered by players regarding Foundations & the patch 1.63. Also on the list, some news about the patch 1.65, the next version coming on the European Dark Age of Camelot servers and some words about GOA only content.

English client on Camlann :

As you know, Camlann is an English server using the PVP ruleset. While you can play on Camlann using the French or the German client with only minor problems, you MUST use the correct English client in order to use Foundations correctly. If you do not, you will encounter many problems, some critical ones, when decorating your house.

You will find information needed on how to change a client version in our knowledge database, doing a search on "client".

To get back home (all servers) :

Only the owner of a house (the player who placed the house on his lot) can use the "back home" necklaces given by teleport NPCs. Other characters on your account will not be able to do so.

However, by having a bindstone in your house, you (and everyone bound to the house) will be able to do /release house. Rememeber that you need to bind there before being able to use this command.

Merchants NPCs & Sale of items :

On the online Foundations manual, you can read that the money collected by your Merchant NPC (if you have one and if this NPC has items for sale) can be used as a "security vault" to pay the rent.

This function is NOT activated in 1.63 but in 1.64, therefore, do not count on it for now to pay the rent. Always leave as much money as possible in your house to pay the rent, better be safe than sorry.

As for the sale of items via these Merchants NPCs, know that we do not interfere with the process. If you do not sell for enough money, if you buy too many items, if you buy a too expensive item, we cannot take actions in any case. You are responsible for your actions and for what you do with your money and items.

Please note that currently, items with a too long name will not display the price correctly and we invite you to be extra careful when buying these items. We are working with Mythic on a fix for this problem.

The Furniture thieves :

Still for Foundations. Be VERY careful when you set the rights for your house. We already had the first cases of "furniture robbery" and we advise you to be at least 200% sure about someone before setting the rights to change/pick up the furniture of your house.

This problem is especially important for guild houses and we encourage guilds with a house to give the correct rights to the correct guild ranks as well as to keep their guild ranks organised. Giving all house rights to the "New recruit" rank is not something to do.

Once again, be VERY careful about this. While we take actions against these thieves, but we cannot always reimburse the victims.

No trade items :

With every new patch, Mythic introduces many changes in the game, and on some items as well. Among these changes, some quest rewards sometimes become not sellable or not tradable.

While these changes are sometimes explained in the patch notes, it is not always the case and we invite all players to keep the items you want for a character, on the character (or in his vault). We do not swap such items from one character to another.

Quest of the Lost Seed : This quest should work correctly once again.
Nosdoden Trophy : Nosdoden trophy can be placed on the walls once again and is now of the correct size.

Coming version : 1.65

The translation of the patch 1.65 (which will include the 1.64 as well) is going fast. We are currently planning to have a test version on Gorre before Christmas and are aiming for a release on live servers in January after the usual testing period.

New server types :

We sometimes receive questions regarding the new server types discussed by Mythic earlier this year and presented to you via a poll. We do not have any information regarding these servers and therefore we cannot take any decisions yet.
We will of course keep you informed as soon as something new comes up.

GOA permanent content :

GOA specific quests have been re-activated on all European servers. You will also find "restore" NPCs to put the famous Geershas emblems back on the shields and cloaks obtained during the campaign.
The campaign weapons and armours are also back in action and working properly.

The weekly tips :

When using the commands /housefriend account & /housefriend player, be sure that the targeted characters are in the same zone as you are or the command will not work correctly.

Something nice now for the ones among you owning a house who wants to safely transfer money from a character to another on the same account. You can buy some furniture items for your house and stock them in one of your house vaults. Once done, connect your other character in need of some money, get the items and sell them. The buying price being the same as the selling price, you will not lose a copper in the process. This will only work if you sell the furniture via the house furniture interface, regular merchants will buy the items for half price as usual.(This doesn't work on Camlann, only on servers with normal ruleset).
