EVE Online's lead designer Kristoffer Toubourg is departing CCP to work on League of Legends after five years.
EVE Online's lead designer Kristoffer Touborg, a five has announced via his Facebook account that he will be leaving his position at the game developer, CCP Games. He is leaving his work with EVE Online to take a position with Riot Games where he'll contribute to League of Legends.
Touborg expressed gratitude for the time he spent working with CCP on EVE Online. "More than half a decade ago, I packed my bags and moved to Iceland to work for CCP," he said. "It's been an incredible five years, working for a company I love, on a game I love. Not a lot of people get that opportunity, but I did and I'll always be grateful that CCP let me work at a place where I'd get up every morning and be happy to go to work."
His move to the League of Legends team, in turn, falls in line with personal changes in his recent gaming interests. "It's pretty humbling to go from one love to another," he said. "A few years ago, my overwhelming interest was the EVE universe; now it's League of Legends and the competitive scene there." He closed his announcement by offering his thanks to his CCP colleagues and affirming his eagerness to get started at Riot. "To everyone at Riot, I'll see you soon."
