GW2 brings back worldwide buffs with Borderlands Bloodlust.
The world of Guild Wars 2 is filled with thousands of dynamic events that constantly change based on the actions of players like you. Fast-paced, action-oriented combat lets you attack on the move, dodge and roll away from enemy blows, team up with other players, and take advantage of environmental weapons to dominate the battlefield! Competitive play in Guild Wars 2 is easy to learn, but offers challenges for new players and hardcore PvPers alike. Guild Wars 2 is your story - your choices determine how your personal story evolves, and with thousands of possible variations, no two players will have the exact same experience.
Fans of World v. World, rejoice - Guild Wars 2 dev ArenaNet just announced its plans to bring a new worldwide buff to the game. Players who manage to capture enough so-called Ruins of Power will grant a huge buff to everyone in their world participating in WvW.
This Borderlands Bloodlust buff grants players a 50 point boost to all stats, healing power, and condition power. Ruins of Power are capture points in the center of the WvW Borderlands map. Each Ruin has a different capture strategy, with varied terrain or resources such as a mounted cannon that can be used for defense. If a team captures three of the five Ruins of Power, players must hold the three points for two minutes to get the buff, which will remain on every player in the world until another team steals it.
ArenaNet expects these new additions will encourage even more intense WvW as players battle over capture points and coordinate to snag that sweet, sweet buff. I just want to shoot people with a cannon.
