Riot Games has launched a new program where users can register League of Legends viewing events for easy access by local players.

Despite the fact that videogames are, by nature, an interactive medium, it can still be a lot of fun to watch people play them. You need to look no further than the growing success of things like eSports to know that some find the stands just as entertaining as the driver's seat. That in mind, Riot Games has launched a new webpage where League of Legends fans can organize and register viewing events to help make it easier for interested parties to find and attend them.

League of Legends files the sharp corners off of the notorious MOBA genre into something that's both approachable, yet challenging. Persistant character development lets you develop your strategies over time and build up your summoner profile, while runes can grant you the edge. The community is both highly competitive, yet well-policed. Think you have what it takes to compete in the League of Legends?

"Summoners across the globe organize events in all kinds of venues...and we want to help," said Riot in an announcement. "With the Viewing Parties program you can register your event to get the word out or, if you're not the organizing type, find out when and where they're going on." Riot's Viewing Parties page includes an interactive map displaying fan events around the world.

According to an attached FAQ, registered parties need to have at least fifteen attendees. They can also be for profit, but they are restricted from using an Riot Games' logos to prevent assumptions that the company itself is a sponsor. The Viewing Parties program has only been up and running for a short while, but many fans have already flocked to it to register their events.
