Players in Shroud of the Avatar will be able to place and move furniture with the simple drag-and-drop controls.
While housing in Shroud of the Avatar will be limited, players lucky enough to find themselves holding the key to their very own homestead will be granted a lot of leeway in what they choose to do with it. Some of these options were recently demonstrated in a video released by the game's developers at Portalarium.
In the video, a player character was show off moving items around their home with simple drag-and-drop controls. These were items run the gamut from standard variety housewares like tables, chairs and cabinets to more medieval and fantasy oriented items like a guillotine, forges and a giant shrine. Beyond just placing things, it looks as though small items can be stacked on top of larger items, helping to make things like tables more tangibly useful. Players were also demonstrated to be able to store furniture-sized items in their backpack which could be pulled out and placed at their convenience.
The video also gave an opportunity to size up the game's progress visually. While Shroud of the Avatar won't win any awards for its graphics, they look nice enough that they won't detract any from the overall experience. When you get down to it, there are probably more important features for the game's developers to be focusing on any ways. All in all, Shroud of the Avatar looks as though it's shaping up into a compelling addition to the MMORPG genre and one we're looking forward to sampling in the future.
