Spitfires among the additions in large beta patch for airborne MMO.

World of Warplanes is still in beta as it flies ever closer to its new November 12 launch date. The game was originally supposed to launch today, but apparently the game needed more polish.

Developer Wargaming had to do something for the fans, so instead of a launch, players got a massive patch that add the British air force -- among other thing -- instead. It is quite likely that this was the original release day update, but Wargaming is holding back making it an "official" launch until all the kinks have been worked out of the system.

Among the 20 new planes from the RAF are four Spitfires and the Javelin. There are nine fighters and nine heavy fighters, and a special premium Supermarine 224 as a gift plane. Players will start with the Goldfinch.

The patch also includes changes to equipment and crew, with the announcement that pilots can now be expected to be wounded more often. New achievements, medals and ribbons have also been added. In addition, there have been changes to the plane and research trees of all nationalities.

You can check out the official site for the full laundry list of changes.
