Bethesda and Zenimax Online have released a new video showcasing expanded character creation options in The Elder Scrolls Online.
Creating a character in an Elder Scrolls game is arguably the most important things you'll do in the game. The character you craft, after all, will be your proxy in an experience that could span hundreds of hours and countless quests. That in mind, Zenimax Online, the developer behind the much anticipated MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online is aiming to deliver franchise fans a level of character customization that they've yet to see in any of the single player iterations. "we really made a conscious choice that we wanted our character progression system to be very robust," said art director, Jared Carr. "It had to be a thorough system with lots of customization options."
To showcase some of these options the developer has released a new video running through what exactly ESO's character generator will be able to do. Among the options demonstrated is the ability to adjust a character's height and how skinny/overweight they are. Players interested in tattooing their adventurer will also find an abundance of options for both the body and the face.
Users will also be given control over individual sections of the body. For instance, the video shows off options that will you allow you to modify the thickness of the shoulders and arms. Besides tattoos, character's faces will also be customizable with a wide variety of "hair styles, adornments and facial adjustments." According to Carr, these options come from a simple desire to give players the best creation system the team possibly can. "We have a dedicated team of character artists who have spent a considerable amount of time and energy developing this for the players."
