Diablo III players will be able to modify an item's stats and appearances following the release of the Reaper of Souls expansion.
Diablo III players are in for a few welcome additions with the coming of the Reaper of Souls expansion. Among the pack's various bits of new content will be Myriam the Mystic, an NPC that players can save. Rescuing Myriam will, in turn, grant players access to her ability to her Enchantment and Transmogrification abilities.
Diablo III is an action RPG set in the dark fantasy setting of Sanctuary, where players must face demonic hordes in order to equip themselves with epic equipment and face down the Lord of Hell.
Myriam's Enchantment skills will allow players to modify and potentially improve the properties of Rare and Legendary items they pick up in loot. As described by Blizzard "[players] will be able to reroll one property on a Rare or Legendary item." While not every property of said items will be alterable, most will fall under Myriam's Enchantment umbrella. Players will be able to re-roll a selected stat as many times as they want as long as they have "the required crafting materials and the necessary gold." The catch, of course, is that each re-roll you pay for will be completely random, making it very much possible to pay a ton of money and get poor results.
Whereas Enchantment is geared toward an item's stats, Myriam's Transmogrification skills will allow players the freedom to customize their items' appearances. Once an item's visual appearance is unlocked players will be able to speak to Myriam and use a set of options to alter the way an time looks, so long as they have the gold. While these appearance options will have no tangible stat bonuses, they should help you to transform your character into a more personalized fighter.
