Final Fantasy XIV players can now pay $18 to move their characters from one game world to another.
Fans of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn not pleased with their standing in their current game world will be happy to know that Square Enix has officially announced that the game's "World Transfer Service" is now up and running. For an $18 fee, players can now move characters on their service accounts from one world to another.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that invites you to explore the realm of Eorzea with friends from around the world.
FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn lets you party up and adventure with a multitude of players from across the globe. Forge friendships, mount chocobos, and board airships as you and your companions create your own unique stories in Eorzea. All the classic elements from the series that you have come to know and love are waiting!
Set out alone or enlist the aid of friends as you undertake epic quests, battle familiar FINAL FANTASY monsters, and acquire unique abilities and equipment. Embark on the adventure of a lifetime to help reforge the fate of Eorzea!
The new service comes with some stipulations, however. For instance, character transfers can only be performed from one world to another. Players hoping to move characters to multiple worlds or transfer multiple characters to a single world will be out of luck. Users also will not be able to transfer characters to a world that has reached its character creation cap.
There will also be some restrictions involving transfers between Legacy worlds. Characters can be moved from non-Legacy and Legacy worlds to another Legacy world. That said, they can't be moved from a Legacy world to a non-Legacy world.
Characters in transfer will also need to choose a new name if their current one is taken in their new world, and will only be able to bring 1 million Gil with them, with an additional 100K for each of their retainers. Friend lists will not be transferred with a character. For a complete rundown on all the rules and regulations governing the World Transfer Service, visit the Final Fantasy XIV website.
