Vikings actor Travis Fimmel will be joining Warcraft in a lead role.
Apparently looking to add a bit of sorcery to his sword repertoire, actor Travis Fimmel, currently the star of History Channel's Vikings, has been confirmed for the lead role in Legendary Entertainment's Warcraft. Other potential co-stars are actress Paula Patton and Colin Farrell, who reportedly have been offered a role in the film.
Warcraft is currently slated to go into production in early 2014 and is currently set to be helmed by Source Code director Duncan Jones. Based on the lore of Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft it will feature a script penned by Charles Leavitt and will be produced by Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni along with Charles Roven of Atlas Entertainment.
While Fimmel is currently being reported as the film's star there is no word as to what role he'll be playing or what the movie's story will be. There has also been no mention of whether or no Warcraft will interfere with the shooting of Vikings, which is currently in production for its second season.
