Blizzard has trademarked the phrase "Warlords of Draenor" which could suggest that a new World of Warcraft expansion is on the way.
Something new may be afoot at Blizzard. Well, if you want to be technical, some new additions to an old game, could be in the works. While nothing has been confirmed by the company itself, it's been discovered that Blizzard recently filed a trademark for the phrase "Warlords of Draenor." Earlier in October, the company also registered the web domain warlordsofdraenor.com, via Go Daddy.
Enter the world of Azeroth and battle against the Alliance of humans, dwarves and night elves or the brutish orcs, trolls and undead of the Horde. World of Warcraft has a very large community of players with hundreds of servers and a myriad of endgame pursuits from raiding dungeons, questing, achievement hunting, PVP arenas, and now pet battles.
For those a bit rusty on their World of Warcraft, Draenor is the in-game homeland of the Orcs and the Draenei, and was the main setting of WoW's first expansion The Burning Crusade. That being the case, if Warlords of Draenor winds up being a new expansion, players could probably expect it to include another romp through Orc-central.
All of this, of course, could amount to nada. It wouldn't the first time a company trademarked something and then did nothing with it. This could very well just be a precaution on Blizzard's part, just in case it decides to do something with an idea somebody maybe sort-of had. That being the case, we're hopeful this amounts to more than dust in the wind as, generally speaking, more Warcraft is better than less.
