EVE fans who move fast can be but discounted "early bird" Fanfest tickets while supplies last.
CCP has invited EVE devotees to take part in its Fanfest 2014 event, which will again take place in the studio's home country of Iceland. Dates are May 1st through the 3rd. The annual event, a celebration of all things EVE, routinely attracts as many as 2,000 fans and developers every year. In addition to giving players a chance to mingle in person, the Fanfest will play host to a number of exciting events including an ultimate "Party at the Top of the World" where attendees will enjoy an "epic bash that will not be forgotten."
The Fanfest will also feature presentations of EVE Online, Dust 514 and EVE: Valkyrie, CCP's in-development space flight sim. There will also be EVE Online and Dust 514 tournaments, player/developer roundtable discussions, and an exclusive dinner with CCP's staff, including its CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson. "EVE Fanfest is our chance to bring our community together in Reykjavik, the birthplace of the EVE Universe," said Petursson. "Every year we look forward to the revelry in the scenic setting of Iceland and to making announcements, connecting with our community and last but not least, celebrating like true Vikings!"
Standard admission to 2014's Fanfest will cost $175 per ticket. That said, a limited number of "early bird" tickets are available for $150 while their supplies last. EVE players with enough in-game PLEX can also use that to pay for their tickets if they have enough. Icelandair and Center Hotels are also offering special rates to Fanfest attendees.
