Universal's Warcraft film will feature a variety of actors from film and television.

Details about the Warcraft film have generally been pretty sparse, although director Duncan Jones did reveal at BlizzCon that the film would be an origin war story. However, while we've been gifted with the occasional confirmation of an actor's involvement, the studio has continued to hold information regarding the movie close to its chest.

That being the case, Universal Pictures has now revealed the identities of a sizable number of the film's cast. The list includes Travis Fimmel (Vikings) who had previously been pegged as one of the one of the film's stars, as well as Paula Patton (Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol) who was offered a role earlier this year. Besides them, the studio has also confirmed the involvement of Tobey Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans), Ben Foster (X-Men: The Last Stand) and Rob Kazinsky (Pacific Rim). Dominic Cooper (Captain America) is also in negotiations for a role in the film.

Notably missing from the announcement are Paul Dano, Anton Yelchin, Anson Mount and Colin Farrell, all of whom had been rumored in the past to be potential participants in the film. Farrell had previously stated he was "50/50" in his considerations of the role. This latest news would suggest that he passed on it. The film is currently slated for a March 2016 release, which means we'll have some time to kill before we get to see how this all turns out.
